Oklahoma Firefighers'
BURN CAMP

The Huffy and Friends Tulsa Firefighter's Educational Clowns organization put on Oklahoma's only camp for burn survivors called Oklahoma Firefighter's Burn Camp for ten years from 1999 to 2008. We also sponsored an apartment for Burn Victim's Families for 24 years from 1984 to 2008. These two programs now have their own non-profit number and are separate from our organization, although we still partner with them. The T.F.E.C. or Burn Camp is not a part of the Tulsa Fire Department.

2008 made the T.F.E.C.'s tenth and our last year to be the main sponsor for Oklahoma Firefighter's Burn Camp. It was a free 5-day camp designed for children that are burn victims, or children that have any disfiguring type injuries. We averaged 60 to 70 campers each year from all over Oklahoma and even some from other states that attended Oklahoma's only Burn Camp.

Because of the huge request for so many years from the campers, we extended the Burn Camp one more day and it now is a five-day camp starting with the 10-year anniversary Burn Camp 2008. The 5 days for this Burn Camp are in August. This Burn Camp now has its own non-profit number and is separate from our organization, although we still partner with Oklahoma Firefighter's Burn Camp.

Do you know of a child that would like to go to burn camp?

If you are interested, here is the future Burn Camp information:
The first day of burn camp ( Registration ) will start at Dry Gulch USA. There are over 100 counselors & volunteers involved that range from firefighters, burn nurses, teachers, adult burn survivors, to many other volunteers. We provide a one-to-one ratio so that each camper has an adult counselor/buddy for all 5 days. We always work in teams. We have had great success with our camp for 10 years now! Our Oklahoma Firefighters' Burn Camp is one of the Top Burn Camps in the Nation!

The camps activities include: A western town theme, petting zoo, water park, clowns, go cart track, bumper cars, live music, arts and crafts, great meals, magic shows, bass fishing guides & water sports on Hudson Lake, horse back rides, haunted house, spooky nature trails, team building games, Dry Gulch dance, and much more.

There is a different theme every year. Each child will receive a burn camp shirt, hat, plaque, picture, camp packet, burn camp pin, picture button, toys, and more!

If you know of a child that has been involved in a fire or burn incident, or a disfiguring injury that you think might benefit from this camp please contact us as soon as possible. The parents or guardian must fill out and turn in an application each year.
